Fee income is up 15%. There are more freelance designers and in-house teams too. But nearly seven out of ten businesses haven’t recruited in the last year and 66% don’t protect their IP.

To mark the publication of the research we hosted a national debate which saw more than 400 designers voting on burning issues affecting the industry including: are recessions good news in disguise for designers? And would more on the job training be a good thing for designers?
