SUMMARY:UCF HEAD OF DESIGN LECTURE SERIES - RICHARD LIEBOWITZ
DESCRIPTION:
Architect & Director of Liebowitz & Pritchard Architecture & Yacht Design Ltd, Richard Liebowitz presents "Reflections on the Super yacht".
In his talk, designer Richard Liebowitz will share observations from twenty years in the luxury yacht design business, offering insider thoughts on the intricate process of creating today’s extraordinary vessels. As Director of the international-award-winning Liebowitz & Pritchard Architecture + Yacht Design Ltd, Richard has orchestrated spirited projects from planning to completion, encompassing motor and sailing yachts, new builds, refits, and their bespoke interiors.
When away from the drafting board, Richard has expanded his knowledge base with inspections of key shipyards in many countries, enhanced by essential time aboard some of the world’s most notable private yachts. With this experience, Richard’s talk will convey insights on a sweeping industry, illuminated by an absorbing photographic presentation. Topics touched-upon will include style, technology, growth of the industry, plus a peek at his firm’s newest designs.

SUMMARY:KING PONG
DESCRIPTION:Straight up, knock-out competition, with real (made to look like) gold trophies for the winner. Plus the infamous ‘best customised bat trophy’.
You might say it’s an opportunity to meet and mix with fellow creative beings but actually King Pong is an underground secret tournament, (like Karate Kid / Fight Club) that nobody knows about...yet. The premise is deceptively simple; a knock-out tournament with the winner being crowned ‘King Pong’ and walking away with the adulation of a baying crowd and hand-made trophy*.
Is that it? Not really; you see all players must register and be sent a blank paddle (level playing field) for customisation. This is highly important and the core rule of King Pong. The best customised bat will be voted for and win another hand-made trophy*.
